H&M to Create 6000 to 7000 New Jobs


H&M, the second biggest european clothing company (spanish group Inditex- Zara owners, being number one) is not only resisting very well to the worldwide recession, but shows its optimism by announcing the creation of thousands of new jobs this year, while numerous brands and businesses are cutting down.

The company will employ 6000 to 7000 new persons in 2009.

" H&M is financially solid, and is investing on its future", commented Taper-Hoël, responsible for the communication of the group.

Valentino Denies Rumors


After Valentino's appearance at the Valentino's Haute Couture presentation, rumors were flying.. It was heard and told that he had participated on the process and creation of Valentino's collection.

Valentino denies it; « I assisted the show only to support the work of two persons I love and who are very close to me », referring to Maria Grazia Chiuri et Pier Paolo Piccioli.

Vera Wang Drops Out of Fashion Week


The designer drops out of Fashion Week due to the poor economic climate.
The list of well-known names opting out of presenting at the tents—which costs between $100,000 and $750,000—is growing. Betsey Johnson and Carmen Marc Valvo have also canceled.
There is no denying that the current economy is impacting the fashion industry as much as it has other industries.
