After 2008s' record in terms of openings of new stores in France, 2009 will be even bigger, 738 new malls will be opening.

Mania Over Obama Continues- Rome


Obama has again reached the catwalks, this time in Rome, where haute couture designer Guillermo Mariotto showed a kaftan with Obama's face.
"He's definitely a fashion icon. He's brand new, he's a black president, and he's so handsome," said Mariotto.

New Location for NY Fashion Week


After 15 years of New York Fashion Week taking place under a big tent in Bryant park, they will be moving to Lincoln Center starting 2010.

Louboutin Limited Edition Marie Antoinette Shoes



Christian Louboutin, along with renowned embroiderers Jean Francois Lesage will be launching a limited exclusive Marie Antoinette capsule collection on February. Only 36 wearable Louboutin silhouette pairs will be launched.
Each 6,295$ pair of shoes will come in a special box with a book with illustrating the process of the shoes.

Dior- Spring/09 Haute Couture




Christian Dior's grandiose haute couture collection was inspired by Vermeer paintings.
Designer John Galliano said he was struck by the 17th century Dutch painters pieces- by their palette of luminous blues, yellows and creamy whites.
"Instinctively, I wanted to do beautiful paintings again," said Galliano.

Eliee Saab-Spring/09 Haute Couture



Lebanese designer Eliee Saab looked on to the traditional Kimonos for inspiration while creating his airy but elaborate summer haute couture collection.
"Its light and delicate like a Japanese poem," said the designer.

Berlin Fashion Week


Berlin's Fashion Week hosting various parties and celebrations as it tries to carve a place alongside wealthier rivals such as Paris, New York, London and Milan.
The affordability of Berlin has attracted aspiring and eager young designers from around the world, while the lack of jobs has encouraged people to be creative.

Italy's Prince Enters the Fashion Business


Emmanuel Filiberto of Savoy will launch his own line- ' Prince of Italy'.
"I have always been very demanding about clothes and I told myself I would like to wear the clothing I created," he told the gossip magazine Di Piu.
This line will reflect the 'Made in Italy' and also his style. Raimondo Ciofani will be the designer "but under my instructions and according to my style."
His summer collection will be hitting shops soon.
